The Front Headlock is a very dangerous position for the defensive guy, and an extremely controlling position for the guy on offense. Whenever your opponent is hanging his head down a little, we'll tell you as coaches to snap him under. You can also get it if your opponent takes a bad shot. It's very easy to control him and if performed correctly, you should be able to get a takedown out of it.

You will pull his head under your chest. Grab the chin with one hand while keeping your elbow high so it's harder for your elbow to be grabbed and controlled. With the other hand, grab the opposite side arm and keep it up.

Ideally, you'll want to snap him down to the mat and finish there. With that in mind, there are plenty of moves to do while standing.

Standing

  • Grab left elbow

    • #1: Pass-by to near high crotch ·
    • #2: Left arm under far knee, head stays up, low leg cradle
    • #3: Head under chest, far ankle pick, cradle
    • #4: Far side fireman's carry
    • #5: Grab elbow with right arm, rolling cradle
  • Under-hook left arm (cement job)

    • #6: Super Cement Job
    • #7: Far side inside trip
    • #8: Block far foot, put weight to that side, lift foot as you fall
  • Defense

    • #9: Post chin hand down, head inside arm-drag to near outside single
    • #10: Post chin hand down, pop head out, arm-drag to double
    • #11: Post chin hand down, pass-by, far ankle pick

On The Mat

  • Grab chin with right hand, right shoulder on left trap

    • #12: Head in armpit, grab hip, pull both, run behind
    • #13: Cement Job
    • #14: Fake cement, grab wrist, spin behind
    • #15: Cement mixer
    • #16: Feed elbow across, lift head, throw legs in, spin behind
    • #17: Headlock X
    • #18: Knee pick, under-hook right side, put to back
    • #19: Knee pick, opponent recovers, spin behind
    • #20: Opponent grabs elbow, switch sides, slam to mat, knee behind elbow, go behind
  • Grab shoulder with left hand, neck with right, head position on left trap (short arms)

    • #21: Circle left, arm drag, lefty outside single
    • #22: Circle left, arm drag, pull right shoulder to the left, circle right, lefty double
  • Defense

    • #23: Pull elbow down, drag out
    • #24: Try drag out, he circles to feet, seat-belt toss
    • #25: Barrel roll (dump)
    • #26: He tries mixer, catch bottom leg
